Home is not
always a place.

Ashley Bruno, psychologist

A space to explore who you are, what shaped you, and how you want to live.

Before it became my profession, psychology was a way of making sense of life.

My journey into this profession has been a long and evolving one. From a young age, I felt a deep interest in the ways people survive, change and support one another through healing — an interest that began with trying to understand myself, and gradually became a wish to accompany others.

I was raised between New York and Bari, with Puerto Rico forming another thread in my story. Moving between languages, cultures and places that felt like home — but never entirely so — shaped both my identity and the question at the centre of my work: how do we find a sense of home within ourselves?

The self can be one of the most complex places from which to begin. Therapy is not a final destination, but a relationship in which identity, patterns, wounds and possibilities can be met with curiosity. I would be honoured to accompany a part of that lifelong process.

Some seasons ask more of us. We can start with what is here.

01

Identity, belonging & life transitions

Migration, culture shock, relocation, loneliness and finding direction across different versions of home.

02

Relationships & attachment

Recurring relational patterns, boundaries, emotional availability, self-worth and intimacy.

03

Trauma & adverse experiences

Making space for what happened and understanding the responses that once helped you survive.

04

Anxiety & emotional regulation

Overwhelm, perfectionism, shame, intense emotions and coping strategies that no longer feel helpful.

05

Eating, body & neurodiversity

A non-judgemental exploration of eating difficulties, body experience, ADHD traits and individual ways of functioning.

06

Illness, change & loss

Psychological support around illness, caregiving, uncertainty, grief and changes in one's sense of self.

07

Adolescents & families

Support for young people navigating identity, anxiety, school pressure and relationships, involving family when useful and appropriate. My postgraduate psychotherapy training includes a specific focus on childhood, adolescence, attachment and development.

One person.
More than one useful lens.

My foundation is cognitive-constructivist: we explore not only what you think, but how your personal meanings, relationships and life story organise your experience. From there, I integrate methods according to the person — never the other way around.

Understand

Together we build a shared understanding of what is happening, what shaped it and what keeps it going.

Connect

We notice links between present experience, attachment, schemas, past events, the body and your wider context.

Experience

Reflection meets practical and experiential work, at a pace that supports safety, agency and genuine change.

Still learning.
Always.

Good clinical work asks for curiosity, humility and continued study. These are the foundations currently shaping mine.
